DANCE WORLD ROCKED BY NEWS OF THE SAD LOSS OF TONY DE VIT

The Mixology offices were devastated on Tuesday morning (July 2nd) to hear of the tragic loss of one of the world's most popular DJs and remixers, Tony De Vit, at Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital at 08:30am. When Tony was recently told to take a break after collapsing with exhaustion in Miami the Doctor's had diagnosed him as suffering from severe exhaustion and fatigue, following an acute case of food poisioning. It was later learnt that this illness was, in fact, bronchial pneumonia and his condition then worsened due to bone-marrow failure.

Tony's manager and long time friend Kay Mastersen commented "I have lost a very dear friend and the world has lost one of the most talented DJs and producers. Tony was a wonderful person who made people laugh and happy when they were around him. It was always an incredible experience to see Tony at work DJing in a club and the effect he had on people. He was dearly loved by clubbers throughout the world and the dance music industry, and his death is an incredible loss to us all." While the news continues to rock clubland and the enture dance music industry, it struck a particular blow to various members of the Mixology family who have only recently worked with Tony on studio projects as well as DJing alongside him and we have all lost a good friend. Tony was not only the finest DJ in the country, but one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. The dance world is left with an irreplaceable gap and our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Tony's family and friends.
